I can't figure it out. I'm guessing this is 100% wrong but, I've gone into Itunes, synced it, clicked photos, selected an empty folder and clicked sync (it was the only button I could press)..and it didn't transfer, like I hoped.

Hi there,
So this has been an issue for me for years since the hard drive on my macbook crashed and had to be replaced meaning that all the content on my iPod was stuck on my iPod. I'm not worried about music or anything else just my photos, which I want to get from the iPod onto my mac.

Image Capture doesn't show any images, neither does iPhoto when iPod is connected. I can't seem to access it as an external hard drive.
I have a first gen MacBook and also a MacBook Air and can't seem to get anywhere with either. For info the MacBook is the same laptop iPod was originally synced with before hard drive replacement.

The only way so far that I can find is to pay circa £30 for third party software, this is just a last ditch attempt to see if anyone has an alternative solution before I finally submit and pay the £30 which I am loathed to as I really think I should be able to get my photos from my iPod to my Mac without purchasing third party software.
